Worthing & District Canine Society Open Show – 18th September 2016

With many of our Open Show Stallwarts, being committee members for Worthing Canine Society, they were busily working their socks off, instead of showing on Sunday.  But those of us who could, were there showing our dogs.

I have not received any results from anyone, so come forward if you have any results you would like published.

It turned out to be a perfect day weather wise – so hats off to Worthing for arranging this and for organising a well run show.

Oscar (Pipparel The Look of Luv) and I had a smashing day. Oscar stood alone in his Post Graduate Miniature Poodle class under Judge Chris Tointon, and was beaten for BOB by the Open winner (a super white bitch), who also sadly stood alone in her class.  Oscar took Res BOB.  Having gone round the ring on his hind legs, behind the lovely white winner of Open – its not surprising really.  Turns out that she came into season 2 days later, so obviously Oscar knew something I didn’t!!

But he really behaved like a show dog when he strutted his stuff among 35 Reserve Best of Breed winners in the Res BOB Stakes, some of whom I am told are CC winners, where he was placed 1st under Judge Mrs Jane Lilley!  Thank you Worthing for a lovely show and thank you Jane Lilley for the lovely things you said about my boy!

Nearly falling asleep, while waiting for the Reserve Best of Breed group!

Mary Melvin had a good day too, with her Papillon, Alfie (Ringlands Sunshines Story), under Judge Carol Farrow.   Alfie was also RBOB but as the RBOB stakes clashed with the Handling Classes, they plumped for handling and they were placed 3rd in their class –   Well done Mary & Alfie
